Mrs. Claus and her husband pose with the elves.

Santa Claus gets all the credit for Christmas magic. Oh sure, there are songs about his reindeer and, every once in a while, you hear mention of the elves who build the toys Santa delivers to the children of the world. But when do you ever hear a word of praise, let alone a carol or a television special, about Mrs. Claus? Mrs. Claus organizes the elves’ payroll, cares for the reindeer and keeps Santa and the whole crew clean, well-fed and comfortable way out there at the North Pole. (Just try getting groceries delivered inside the Arctic Circle.) Without her vigilance, Santa would have overslept on many a Christmas Eve, delaying gifts for the whole world! Clearly, Mrs. Claus deserves some respect. Tell her so at Fairytale Town’s annual Cookie Workshop with Mrs. Claus. She’ll be helping children ages 12 and under decorate cookies and make ornaments. Of course, Santa will be there, too, posing for pictures like the diva he is. Meet them both on Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. Admission is $3.75 for adults and $3.50 for children. Children under 3 are free. Fairytale Town is located at 3901 Land Park Drive. Call 264-7462 for more information.
