More good news for the Sacramento Ballet, where creativity and a little hard work just keeps paying off: The troupe has recently been awarded a New Essential Works grant from the Jerome Robbins Foundation. The grant of $25,000 pairs a dance company with a rising choreographic artist to collaborate on a new work. The Sac Ballet will be working with Brian Reeder, a former star at the American Ballet Theatre, the New York City Ballet and the Ballet Frankfurt. The world premiere of the new work will be at Sac Ballet’s May 16 annual fundraiser at the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre at the Mondavi Center in Davis. For more information, visit the company’s Web site, And for some additional fun and games that will benefit the ballet, join them for Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Patties, 1630 J Street, at 7 p.m. on March 10. It’s more fun than a barrel of … uh … drag queens!
