Get a move on

A pair of local troupes are changing locations—one with more planning than the other. Lambda Players recently informed audiences of its lost lease at the current location on 21st Street. The company closed its current show while looking for a new home. The venerable GLBT community-theater company has had a number of homes over the years, but the most recent was smack-dab in the middle of the gay-entertainment area fondly referred to by some at SN&R as Glitter Gulch. We hope it finds another home soon.

In brighter news, The Alternative Arts Collective in Roseville—home of the edgiest theater you’re likely to find in the burbs—with recent productions of Angels in America, Equus and a very bloody, very gender-busting version of Hamlet—announced last week that it’s outgrown its current digs at the Royer Art Center in Royer Park. TAAC has begun looking for a larger location in the area.
