Dr. T. and the Women

Rated 4.0 The new Robert Altman picture is a treat even though it delivers less than it seems to promise. “Dr. T” is Travis Sullivan (Richard Gere), a very successful gynecologist who adores women in general and is much adored in turn by his patients, among others. The dramatic twist in all this adoration comes of his being surrounded by women in various states of crisis. In the midst of these troubled relationships, Dr. Sullivan plunges into an affair with a wily golf pro (Helen Hunt). Hunt’s scenes with Gere are particularly sharp.
