It’s after the apocalypse and a group of survivors has gathered to … talk about the “Cape Feare” episode of The Simpsons? Yep, that’s the premise of Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play. Well, there’s more to it than just that, of course but why ruin the fun? OK, one more spoiler—the show includes commercials. Hey, it really is like that classic animated show! Written by Anne Washburn, and directed by visiting artist Mindy Cooper, this darkly funny comedy is staged by the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance. It also features music by Michael Friedman with lyrics by Washburn. $10-$15; 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday; Wright Hall’s Main Theatre, 1 Shield Avenue in Davis; http://arts.ucdavis.edu.
