So is he trying to claim props or take the hit for the beginning of the universe? We’ll have to check out this “one rabbi” show to find out. Rabbi David Wechsler-Azen brings his performance piece, I Caused the Big Bang, to the Crest Theatre for a one-night show on Tuesday, October 26. He promises to fill us in on such important bits of info as what happens when angels play poker (and what do they bet with?). It’s a humorous take on some of the biggest ethical and spiritual questions one can wrestle with, as the fictional Rabbi David Ness addresses his congregation on Yom Kippur (a sermon he was late for), after the deaths of 10 members in just two weeks. It’s all about using narrative to approach the big questions, and the show doesn’t shy away from them. Tickets are $18-$36 and can be purchased at the Crest box office for the single performance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
