Lipizzaner Stallions. More launch than Evel Knievel.

Ladies and gentlemen! Girls and boys! The “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions have arrived in Sacramento! These amazing horses, which are born totally black and gradually turn white as they grow, date back more than 400 years in history when they were bred for the nobility of Austria. The spectacular leaps and aerial maneuvers that astound audiences around the globe were first developed in 17th century European battles as a defense against foot soldiers. So impressive is this breed that General Patton ordered a special mission to rescue them from the threat of Russian troops during World War II. Witness the Lipizzaners, with their ancestral forefathers the Spanish Andalusians and the Arabians, as they execute an exciting equine ballet on their 32nd Anniversary Tour. There are two chances to see these four-footed dancers perform, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $17.50-$24.50 for adults, $2 off for children and seniors. Arco Arena.
