Best place to see barefoot men buy beer at 4 a.m.

Albertson’s Food & Drug
525 Keystone Ave., 329-2981

Hey Norm,
Wow, is Reno ever different than Salt Lake. Like, instead of only being able to buy a beer Monday through Tuesday before 2 p.m., you can buy whatever the hell you want any time you want. If you want some Everclear and some 151 to help you throw back your Vicodin or a nice cheese dog, well, God bless you, you can go into a family grocery, buy all but the Vicodin, then sit on church steps and have a grand old time at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning. This is heaven. Many establishments here are excellent sources of after-hours booze, including casinos, where they give you drinks to just sit there at a slot machine, but my personal favorite is the Albertson’s on Keystone Avenue. Ben’s Fine Wine & Spirits is right across the parking lot, but you can’t buy cheese dogs there. The Coors Light at Albertson’s is always cheap, and, although I’ve always worn at least a tank top, shorts and my thongs inside, they seem to look the other way if you don’t have shoes on, or a shirt, or haven’t bathed for a stretch. And are the clerks ever friendly? They remind me of Mom.
