Green Zone

Rated 2.0

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass, the team behind the last two Jason Bourne movies, join forces for this Iraq War pic. Damon plays a soldier fed up with bad intelligence leading him on a fruitless search for Weapons of Mass Destruction. When a townie tells him that a notorious general is secretly meeting in a house nearby, Damon takes matters into his own hands and becomes involved in all sorts of intrigue. Greengrass employs his shaky cam techniques again, this time combining them with bad lighting. This results in something that is literally hard to watch. Greg Kinnear plays a Pentagon official who knows his government is lying, and he likes it. Damon works hard, but the shoddy script and spastic cameras let him down. Greengrass and Damon say their will be no more Bourne movies from them. That’s too bad.
