Four metro areas of California rank in top 10 in nation for personal health indicators

The Annual Fitness Index ranked four metropolitan areas of California among the top 10 in the U.S. for personal health indicators, based on a range of metrics.

To compile the report, released jointly by the American College of Sports Medicine and the WellPoint Foundation, researchers analyzed data on the country’s 50 largest metropolitan areas, according to California Healthline. For personal health indicators such as physical activity, nutrition and chronic conditions, the San Jose area ranked first in the U.S., San Francisco ranked second, San Diego ranked fourth, and Sacramento ranked 10th.
