UnitedHealthcare is expanding

The company is hiring more than 100 employees for its Chico call center

UnitedHealthcare’s Chico Operations Center has announced plans to hire 115 additional workers by the end of the year.

The call center, which fields roughly 2.5 million calls annually, has been operating in Chico since 1998, according to a UnitedHealthcare press release. Local community leaders, including Chico Mayor Ann Schwab, Butte County Supervisor Larry Wahl and Assemblyman Dan Logue, were invited to speak at a reception on Tuesday, July 3, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned outside of the company’s offices on 20th Street. The new employees will join a local workforce already nearly 400 strong.
