Sure it’s hot, but at least it’s not 1925 hot

Last week, temperatures in Chico climbed to more than 100 degrees for the first time in 2015. Sunday, June 21, is the first official day of summer, so the worst of the heat is yet to come, a fact of life most North State residents are familiar with. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Chico was on July 15, 1972, when the mercury rose to 117 degrees, according to weather website intellicast.com. Record highs for this week are as follows:

June 19: 108 degrees (1970)

June 20: 108 degrees (1920)

June 21: 109 degrees (1961)

June 22: 108 degrees (1921)

June 23: 108 degrees (1925)

June 24: 110 degrees (1925)

June 25: 112 degrees (1925)
