The unknown protestor

This man, who at first glance looked a very much like conservative political gadfly John Gillander, was spotted on Warner Street Oct. 21 waving an upside down California state flag, presumably in protest of Gov. Gray Davis’s visit to Chico State University. When approached by a photographer, the man literally wrapped himself in the upside-down flag and refused to show his face. Some, including Josh Cook, Butte County Republican Party Chairman, were asked by speech organizers to leave the area where Davis was appearing, a construction site under the control of the contractor until the project is completed.
