Pair up, work out

Why workout buddies are beneficial

Unless you’re one of those hyper-motivated self-starters, finding a competent, positive workout buddy can help you stick to a routine. Here’s why:

Time goes by faster. Adding a social element to exercise will help keep your eyes off your watch.

You won’t skip workouts. Not wanting to let your buddy down will motivate you to find the time and energy—even after a long, busy day.

You’ll get an outside perspective. It’s difficult to recognize personal gains; your buddy’s more objective view will help validate your progress and keep you motivated.

You can celebrate successes together. Achieving goals can be more gratifying when they’re shared. Plus, it’s not cool to fist-bump yourself.
