Misery in Pakistan

Americans need to step up and help in this crisis

For whatever reasons, Americans have been slow to appreciate the magnitude of the flood disaster in Pakistan. Fully one-fifth of the country is under water, millions are homeless, lack food and drinking water, and are in imminent danger of contracting cholera. The disaster is as horrible as the Southeast Asian tsunami and the Haiti earthquake—worse, some say—and yet little is being done.

It’s time to step up and help save lives. Send a contribution today to the International Red Cross, Oxfam, AmeriCares or the International Rescue Committee. Let’s show the Pakistanis that they can count on Americans in their hour of need.
