Mild months, wild months

Chico is a college town, and like any college town it has a lot of parties, especially when the weather is right and school is in session. Things calm down during the winter months, but as spring brings warmth, the number of parties increases. With the students gone during summer, the number of parties goes down, but when they return, so do the parties. And, as this chart shows, so do the calls for service to the Chico Police Department—sometimes by more than a thousand calls a month. These are the official calls-for-service numbers for 2008.
