Labyrinth in Children’s Park offers opportunity for contemplation

Local artist and family therapist Marilynn Jennings, creator of the newly completed Chico Community Labyrinth located in Children’s Park, stands before her work that was dedicated at 11 a.m. on 11/11/11. More than 100 people attended the event to unveil the brick-built geometric pattern that is 42-feet in diameter. Jennings said the project, which involved many individuals and local organizations donating time and money, took four years in planning and fundraising and a month and a half to build. The labyrinth, an ancient meditation tool, was designed to provide a place to bring the community together to “support both inner and world peace.” More information and a history of the project can be found at <a href=http://chicolabyrinth09.blogspot.com.">
