Marching for the planet

Hundreds take to Chico’s streets in support of the Paris climate talks.

An estimated 250 people turned out for a demonstration in downtown Chico on Saturday (Nov. 29) on the run-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place is Paris. Those talks began on Monday and will continue for 12 days. This year marks the 21st such conference and each year the United States, despite being the second biggest CO2 polluter in the world, has walked away without a legally binding promise to curb emissions thanks to a lack of support from federal lawmakers.
