Special Olympics torch makes a stop in Chico

The final leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics World Games came through Chico on Tuesday (July 14). Runners, including Special Olympics athlete Brett Laza (left) and law enforcement representative Nikos Angelakis stopped with the Flame of Hope at the Chico City Plaza for a short ceremony before continuing on their run. The final leg started in Sacramento on Monday, includes 122 communities, and will conclude at the Los Angeles Coliseum for the commencement of the games on Saturday, July 25.
