Hundreds protest election results in Chico

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Chico last Wednesday (Nov. 9) to protest the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States. The action started at 5 p.m. and continued for several hours, with the crowd making multiple rounds through downtown and stopping to rally at Chico City Plaza and outside of Chico State’s Bell Memorial Union (pictured here). The protesters chanted “Not our president!” and other slogans as they marched, and they listened to speakers from the local LGBT, black, Hispanic and other communities marginalized by President-elect Trump during his campaign.
