Starting this weekend there will be a music marathon no more than a four-hour drive from Chico most weekends throughout the summer. And the CN&R has compiled this handy guide highlighting another bountiful season of music in Nor Cal.

Emissions Festival: May 13-16, Highway 70, Belden. Bass-music fest featuring: DJ QBert, The Grouch, Gift of Gab, Phuture Primitive, many more. Tickets: presale sold out; additional ticket info TBA (see website).

Strawberry Music Festival (spring): May 26-29, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Mavis Staples, Darlingside, David Grisman Sextet, The Wood Brothers, more. Tickets: $25-$85 (single day, no camping) to $230-$250 (two- to four-day passes, camping included).

Huichica Music Festival: June 10-11, Gundlach Bundschu Winery, Sonoma. Featuring: Dengue Fever, Giant Sand, Fruit Bats, Mystic Braves, more. Tickets: $40-$60 (single day) to $90 (two days).

Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival: June 16-19, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Gibson Brothers, Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass, more. Tickets: $35-$60 (one day) to $155 (four days). Camping included.

Sierra Nevada World Music Festival: June 17-19, Mendocino County Fairgrounds, Boonville. Featuring: Toots & The Maytals, Lee Perry, Beres Hammond, Israel Vibration, more. Tickets: $175 (three days). Camping: $80 per car.

Kate Wolf Music Festival: June 23-26, Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville. Featuring: Eric Bibb, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, K.D. Lang, Dave & Phil Alvin with The Guilty Ones, Harry Belafonte, more. Tickets: $210-$300 (two to four days, with camping). Parking extra.

Sacred Movement: June 24-26, Lake Concow Campground, Concow. Featuring: Healing artists, plus music by Jelly Bread, Israel Vibration, Joe Craven, Dylan’s Dharma, more. Tickets: $35 (single day) and $75 (three-day, early bird).

High Sierra Music Festival: June 30-July 3, Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds, Quincy. Featuring: Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dr. Dog, Greensky Bluegrass, The California Honeydrops, more. Tickets: $265.75 for four-day passes, with camping. Parking extra.

California WorldFest: July 14-17, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. Featuring: Third World, Boz Scaggs, Delhi 2 Dublin, Terrance Simian & The Zydeco Experience, MaMuse, more. Tickets: From $65 (one day, no camping) to $210 (four days with camping).

Northern Nights: July 15-17, Cook’s Valley Campground, Mendocino/Humboldt. Featuring: The Coup, Gorgon City, The Knocks, more. Tickets: $259 (three days, with camping).

Guitarfish Music Festival: July 28-31, Cisco Grove Campground & RV Park, Cisco Grove. Featuring: The Greyboy Allstars, Lyrics Born, ALO, Orgone, more. Tickets: $165 (three days) and $195 (four days). Camping included; parking extra.

Reggae on the River: Aug. 4-7, French’s Camp, Garberville. Featuring: Sizzla Kalonji, KRANIUM, Agent Sasco, Anthony B, more. Tickets: $200 to $250 (three to four days with camping).

For the Funk of It: Aug. 12-14, Highway 70, Belden. Featuring: Jelly Bread, Mojo Green, Orgone, Object Heavy, Fred Wesley, Black Fong, more. Tickets: $140 (three days). Camping free; parking extra.

Chico World Music Festival: Sept. 10: Chico State, Chico. Performers TBA. Free admission. Check website for updates.

American River Music Festival: Sept. 16-19, Lotus Park, Colma-Lotus. The Dust Bowl Revival, Birds of Chicago, Achilles Wheel, Hannah Kile, more. Tickets: $139 (three-day pass, camping included).
