Fighting headaches, global warming

Bayer may be best known for its pain reliever, but the corporation is also looking to take on global warming. On National Arbor Day (April 27), Bayer announced it has joined the United Nations Environment Programme’s Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign.

Pledging to plant 100,000 trees in America’s national parks, the Bayer Foundation has awarded the National Arbor Day Foundation a $100,000 grant for a program that replenishes national forests that have been damaged by drought, fire and disease.

Earlier this year, Bayer’s parent company made a similar pledge to plant trees in Nairobi—global headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme. Globally, the corporation has vowed to plant 300,000 trees.
