Baltimore native-turned-Sacramento funny guy Mike E. Winfield once had a small part on the U.S. version of The Office but that's not why you should check out his string of upcoming dates at the Punch Line Comedy Club.

Winfield, who's also performed on Late Show with David Letterman, Showtime's Comics Without Borders and BET's Comic View, tells hilarious stories centered around the home—anecdotal jokes about marriage, kids and other seemingly banal topics. In other words, it makes for the perfect Thanksgiving-week distraction.

Most of the shows are 18-and-over but if you need an excuse to get the rest of the family out of the house, Sunday's early evening show is OK for those 13 and over—with adult supervision, that is. 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. Sunday; $15-$20 with a two-drink minimum. Punch Line Comedy Club, 2100 Arden Way, Suite 225; www.punchlinesac.com. Through November 29.
