You will remember nothing

On a weekend afternoon in the 1990s, I sat in a local hotel ballroom and listened to such local UFO experts as Dr. Richard Boylan discuss what high jinks those little gray guys from Zeti Reticuli had been pulling in the area’s lovers’ lanes. One medium even channeled an entity named “Ea” from the Pleiades, which was marginally entertaining. Anyway, there’s a hard-to-fathom strangeness associated with stories of alien abduction, a beyond-eerie feeling that Andrew J. Epstein—who was the SN&R art director earlier this year—captures in his graphic images, some of which will be on display at the Toyroom Gallery, in the alley behind 2419 Second Avenue, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (November 18-20) from 6:30 p.m. until late. You might even think Epstein had some kind of personal experience that informs his pieces. Also on display are paintings by Reuben Rude, which evoke the Love & Rockets school of underground comics.
