Tom Leaver’s paintings look like a place one may have visited in a dream. His work shows that moment when a sleeper is waking, and her bleary-eyed consciousness intersects with her crisp subconscious vision, and there she is, watching that beautiful place of elation melt, right before it’s wiped from her memory forever.

In contrast to Leaver's ethereal canvases are Mark Emerson's bold geometric paintings. Rectangles are spliced into triangles and parallelograms, and they seem to converge, dancing with each other in a pattern.

Both are abstract, but each tickles different parts of the brain. And they make quite a pair.
