The Human League doesn’t get enough credit. It wasn’t the critical darling that Kraftwerk was, nor did it achieve the commercial ubiquity of Tears for Fears, but historic retrospection aside, the electro-pop wizards are always a lot of fun. Each of the League’s albums (including this year’s excellent Credo) has creative merit to boot. But the band will likely always be remembered for its 1981 album Dare, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this fall. Pairing metallic grooves with Phillip Oakley’s deadpan vocals, it was a smash in the band’s native U.K. and spawned the immortal hit, “Don’t You Want Me.”1200 Athens Avenue in Lincoln, www.facebook.com/thehumanleague.
