Cherry tomatoes

Locavores relax: Tomatoes are officially in season within mere blocks of your house. Don't cast judgy glances at people eating caprese salads or ask where they bought their fruit. Be secure in the knowledge that gardens and farms are teeming with locally grown tomatoes right now. Cherry tomatoes are some of the first to appear with vigor, so eat them like candy and use them in everything from grain salads to kebabs—try pickling some for tomato cravings in winter as well. Spear a few for a cocktail garnish and scatter them over pizza. They're here, they're near. Get used to it.
