“To be honest with you, Barack Obama isn’t my ideal candidate,” Richard St. Ofle confesses. But it’s the Democratic presidential candidate that St. Ofle’s supporting in the upcoming election, and he’s organized an art show, Yes We Can, with the support of Olivia Coelho. All proceeds of the not-necessarily-Obama-themed art sold will be contributed to the campaign.

However, it’s not just a fundraiser: It’s an awareness-raiser. “Even if it brought out 50 votes for [John] McCain, it would be a success, because it would be getting people engaged back in the process,” he says.

The group show, including artists Jyoti Alexander, Jeff Felker, Cori Heimer and many others, begins Second Saturday, October 11 (reception from 8 p.m. to “whenevs"), and ends November 9, at Bows and Arrows, 1712 L Street.
