Surf’s kinda up

It’s the Tyde, which gets out the toughest stains—even without Eddie.

It’s the Tyde, which gets out the toughest stains—even without Eddie.

Imagine the shock of seeing “the Tyde” on an Old Ironsides bill this weekend and thinking, ‘Why, I recall going to a Tyde record-release party back when they was mere whippersnappers, and getting into a Scotch-fueled argument with Eddie Money about the Giants’ pitching, which sucked at the time.’ Except that the Tyde isn’t the San Jose mook-rock band fronted by Eddie; instead, it’s a rather pleasant offshoot of Los Angeles country-rock group Beachwood Sparks, with a nice new album, Twice, on Rough Trade/Sanctuary. The show’s at 9 p.m. Friday, August 8; at Old Ironsides, 1901 10th Street; $8. Frank Jordan and Party of One are also on the bill.
