Spy Game

River Runs Through It director Robert Redford and star Brad Pitt hop from fly to spy fishing in this modern espionage thriller in which Redford ceremoniously passes his Three Days of the Condor torch to Pitt. Redford is a retiring CIA operative who learns rogue protégé Pitt has been imprisoned in China and attempts (as stated in the film’s trailer) to free him. The story is told mostly through flashbacks that dissect the pair’s relationship over time and globetrot in typical James Bond fashion from Vietnam to Berlin to Beirut. Opens November 21. Rated R. Running time: 126 minutes. Directed by Tony Scott, who previously worked with Pitt on 1993’s True Romance.
