Repetition can be soothing. After all, many people repeat chants or prayers to achieve a meditative state. Visual reiterations can have a similar effect, too. Artist and University of the Pacific assistant professor Trent Burkett explores creating duplicates in his pieces using the slip-cast method, crafting numerous elegant ceramic vessels. So despite the apparent simplicity of this Sacramento State alumni’s work, don’t be surprised if it entrances.
