The Sacramento Philharmonic and the Sacramento Opera's inaugural combined season of performances—Sacramento Opera & Philharmonic – Two in Tune—is currently underway and has already included concerts at the Community Center Theater and Fairytale Town. This Friday night, its third event, The International Stars of Opera Recital, happens at a third venue: The Crest Theatre. Featuring soprano Ruth Ann Swenson and tenor Frank Lopardo, the performance will include arias and duets from Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino Rossini and Jules Massenet. Combined, the two singers have graced the stages of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, the Royal Opera House in London and the Paris Opera in Paris. They'll be joined by pianist Mark Robson in the art-deco style Crest Theatre. Basically, it's a great opportunity to dress up all fancy and hear world-class singers in a relatively intimate venue for a lower-than-usual price. $30-$70, 8 p.m. on Friday, November 22, at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street; (916) 442-5189; http://2intune.org.
