Sacramento-based Lefse Records put out Tape Deck Mountain’s latest garage-indie EP, Secret Serf, which includes the single “It Goes Down,” a pop-rock ballad with dreamy, fuzz-guitar atmospherics and vocals that sound like they’re being sung into a can in the corner of a basement. Basically, it’s your not-so-run-of-the-mill but familiar and unequivocally charming psych-rock vibe. I’ve seen the band before, last summer at Los Angeles’ Echo venue, but it’ll be a pleasure to see how the band has evolved this weekend, as the new EP’s songs speak to a newfound richness and attention to detail that surprised and caught my ear. Represent, fellow Sacto head nodders? 1050 20th Street, www.tapedeckmountain.com.
