Mixing indie rock with classic Appalachian bluegrass, Nashville’s Infamous Stringdusters take on conventional folk-music standards and twist them into something that’s at once fresh but familiar. The sextet’s third album, Things That Fly, crosses boundaries with spirited guest spots from Dierks Bentley and Crooked Still’s singer Aoife O’Donovan. The record’s best moment, however, is its take on U2’s “In God’s Country.” Here the Irish band’s classic anthem is so simple and twangy, it sounds as though it were recorded acoustic on a farm somewhere in the Tennessee countryside. 1 Shields Avenue in Davis; www.thestringdusters.com.
