As a man gets older, he and his prostate may not always get along. He also may decide to star in a play about the storied gland. Such is the case with Ed Asner’s performance in A Man and his Prostate, coming to B Street Theatre for one night—although the true experience isn’t Asner’s, but writer-producer Ed Weinberger’s. The serious story gets a comedic take from Asner’s prolific wit, and the production also serves to draw awareness to men’s health issues. Fri 2/1, 7pm. Through 2/1; $55; B Street Theatre, 2700 Capitol Avenue; (916) 443-5300, bstreettheatre.org.
