Sacramento gets a “green” thumbs up.

Last Monday, June 13, the head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency visited the Sacramento region for the first time. Administrator Lisa P. Jackson met with Gov. Jerry Brown, state environmental officials, Mayor Kevin Johnson, and visited a roundtable with local area businesses. She also gave a speech at Johnson’s Greenwise Sacramento meeting, praising Sacramento for providing the resources for green job creation. She called Greenwise “a testament to a community that can see the reality of green jobs and real growth.” As the chief administrator of the EPA, Jackson leads an agency that shapes local and state environmental policies.
