David Garibaldi is an incredible painter with a knack for quickly painting celebrity portraits: Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Mick Jagger and countless others. The most amazing thing about his work is that he does it in front of a live audience. He's opened for the Blue Man Group and Snoop Dogg, and he's performed as halftime entertainment at numerous NBA games. Now, he's bringing his show to the first ever Law Enforcement Memorial Ball, a formal USO-themed fundraiser here in Sacramento. Craig Johnson will host the event, and Garibaldi's work will be auctioned off at the end of the performance. The proceeds go to families of fallen police officers as well as law enforcement officers who are undergoing serious illnesses and have fallen on other personal hardships. It's a good cause, and you might leave with a giant portrait of Bret Michaels. Law Enforcement Memorial Ball, 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23; $75.
