Orpheus X

Writer/composer/performer Rinde Eckert gives a single performance of Orpheus X—a finalist for last year’s Pulitzer Prize for drama. This modern adaptation features Orpheus as a rock star who’s locked himself in his recording studio, where he dreams of rescuing the poet Eurydice from the underworld. Throughout the past 20 years, Eckert has written several trailblazing works that have been produced in New York and presented at UC Davis, including Horizon, And God Created Great Whales, and Slow Fire. He also starred in Steve Mackey’s electric opera Ravenshead.
