Succulent patterns!

Explorit Science Center takes mathematics out of the abstract realm with the new hands-on exhibit Count on It: Numbers in Nature. From the tiny, crystal structure of a snowflake to the vast expanse of a galaxy, the universe is governed by numbers. Discover the mathematical patterns and principles behind honeycombs, tree rings and tidal currents, and learn to make your own natural predictions. The exhibit opens on Saturday and runs through September 27. Museum hours are 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3. Explorit is located at 3141 Fifth Street in Davis. Call (530) 756-0191 for more info.
