DJ Shaun Slaughter is one of those über-motivated people who make the rest of us feel like a waste of human flesh. He’s constantly churning out new ideas, yielding such enviable results as Lipstick and Vicious. Starting this month, Slaughter will join forces with a roster of other movers and shakers—including DJ Jon Droll, designer Richard Hallmarq and events coordinator Jammin’ Jo—to bring a new dance night to Midtown. The crew is calling the club Movement. Slaughter describes the new night as “an anything goes, musical and cultural kaleidoscope.” Expect to get your groove on to deejays spinning dance tracks and music by live acts (Von Iva is slated to perform on August 12). The club also will feature fashion shows, film screenings and something the Movement crew is calling Hang the DJ, where guests are invited to share their favorite tunes. The 21-and-over club kicks off this Friday at Club 21. The cover is $5. Visit www.m-o-v-e-m-e-n-t.com for the details.
