In this warmhearted, thin-blooded British fantasy, 7-year-old Damian (Alex Etel) talks to dead Catholic patron saints during their ambiguously real or imagined visitations to his new suburban home and neighborhood. Damian is surprised that one of the saints smokes. Anything is possible in heaven, he is told. And he also soon learns that just about anything may be possible here on Earth, when a satchel of money bounces nearly into his lap, and he and his older brother (Lewis McGibbon) begin disbursing their newfound wealth. Danny Boyle (28 Days Later and Trainspotting) directs this semi-magical fable.
