The blessed trinity: Bob Barango, the Devil’s Troubadour; Keith Lowell Jensen; and Cheese.

Local comedian Keith Lowell Jensen has been tickling the funny bones of Sacramentans for years. If you’ve attended a Trash Film Orgy event, chances are good that he’s made you laugh. If you’ve seen a performance by the sketch-comedy troupe I Can’t Believe It’s Not Comedy, it’s likely that Jensen (along with his fellow comedians) has made milk shoot out of your nose—that is, if you were drinking milk. Now, this comedian-about-town has a new venture that he claims is “comedy for people who think they hate comedy.” Funny Peculiar, which kicks off this Friday at 8 p.m., is a variety show, featuring stand-up comedians, spoken-word artists and live musical guests. Attend the first show, and you’ll see featured comedians Cheese and Tapan Trivedi, plus musical guest Bob Barango, the Devil’s Troubadour. Jensen will host the show at Luna’s Cafe, located at 1414 16th Street. Tickets are $5. Call (916) 470-9393 or visit www.indycomedy.com for more information.
