Le creek, c’est chic

As we near 4/20, thoughts turn to making our planet a greener place. (Because April 20 is Earth Day! Get your mind out of the bong.) If you’re looking for a way to make a difference to your environment, call the Sacramento Urban Creeks Council and ask about Creek Week. Held April 12 to 20 in cities from Elk Grove to Folsom, the Creek Week agenda is overflowing with activities. Learn to fly-fish, pick up trash along the banks, weed invasive plants, maintain trails or take nature walks to visit birds and turtles. The week concludes with a unified creek cleanup on the morning of April 20. Adults and children are welcome and most activities are free. Call 482-8377 to learn how to get in on the fun.
