How is that funny?

Clean comedy for the chemically challenged.

Clean comedy for the chemically challenged.

Comedian Mark Lundholm has always been a little off. It’s said that he was fired from his first job, as a stock-boy at the local grocery, for writing secret messages in the margarine tubs with a toothpick. It didn’t get any better from there; Mark’s inherent wackiness eventually led him to the streets of Oakland, dead broke and addicted to drugs and alcohol. According to Mark, he didn’t realize he was dysfunctional until his arraignment. Drawing from these trying times, Mark, now clean and sober, has developed a comedy routine for the "chemically challenged," a funny and inspiring act forged by the many years he spent beating addiction and helping others in the same situation. "My show is a lot like life," says Mark. "It’s funny, then it’s not; then it’s over." Catch Mark at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Punch Line, 2100 Arden Way. Tickets are $12.
