Event Pick of the Week

Since 1894, the Sacramento SPCA has been working for the well-being of local animals by providing a safe, nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets. Through active intervention, public education and community outreach, the SSPCA seeks to promote respect for all animals by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect and pet overpopulation. Here’s your opportunity to support this important organization. Join KFBK’s Kitty O’Neal and KOVR’s Diana Penna as they roll out the red carpet for the 14th annual Reigning Cats and Dogs gala, a benefit celebration for the SSPCA and area animal lovers. Enjoy an evening of food and drink from star vintners, restaurants and microbrewers. The event will also feature a stellar silent auction and live jazz. Join the fun 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Sacramento Convention Center. Tickets for the event are $40/$45; sponsorships are available for $500 for a table of 10.
