Getting piggy wit it

Pig Day

One thing people don't see often at farmers markets are live animals. Sometimes there are crustaceans, or live chickens capering about at Asian markets. But on March 7 at the Davis Farmers Market (located in Central Park), it's Pig Day. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., pet squeaky piglets and take selfies with people in pig drag, then chow down on brunch or fried rice made with local bacon. Or shop for pig-shaped bread pops, Bahamian pig pennies and pig-themed crafts for your little oinkers. Visit local legend Bledsoe Purebred's booth for thick-cut pork chops and bacon to take home for your own pigout.
