Don’t expect any Bradley Nowell douche-baggery going down at this reggae show. Chico’s Boss 501 and their dub styles are roots enough to turn the head of even the most jaded rude boy, and yet crusty enough to get those gutter punks two-stepping the night away. That’s not surprising, seeing as band members Nick Dante, Brian Matisek and Ben Stone started their musical careers playing in the short-lived yet sick-as-fuck street-punk quartet the Avenues. The rage has calmed a bit, their music styles have matured, but when it comes to having a good time and killing it live, these strapping young lads keep getting better with age. 1901 10th Street.
