Foothill Theatre Company: update

The financially struggling Foothill Theatre Company raised almost $20,000 in donations over the course of three days last week, and a benefit concert is planned for Thursday, August 14, at the Miner’s Foundry Cultural Center (325 Spring Street in Nevada City).

As reported in SN&R last week, Foothill is seeking to raise $90,000 by Friday (August 15), which would allow the company to keep its doors open and mount its planned September production of On Golden Pond.

Thursday’s concert will feature the music from Starpeople and Seam-Split and dance group Razzmatazz, as well as skits featuring actors from the Foothill Theatre Company. The doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20, with 100 percent of ticket sales benefiting Foothill Theatre Company. For more information, call (530) 265-9320 or go to www.foothilltheatre.org.
