Folsom loves beer

In the counties exhibit at the California State Fair, Sacramento showed off its beer pride. A spiffy map displayed the whereabouts of more than 50 breweries—both currently open and coming soon—beside the focal point: a brew bike. Though the mobile parties chiefly take place in Midtown, the rest of the county is similarly beer crazed, with more and more beer festivals popping up every year. On Friday, August 5, the third annual Tap Folsom brings the beer love to Folsom’s historic district. Among the 40 breweries pouring tastes: Ballast Point, Green Flash, Drake’s Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing, Ommegang and Boulevard Brewing, along with lots of locals. A $40 ticket gets you unlimited pours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., plus access to live music and food options, including Ben’s Huli Huli Chicken and Bacon Mania.
