Here’s yet another reason why the River City is marked with a circle-star on the map of cool: Sacramento is hosting the U.S. Fencing National Championships. Nearly 3,000 fencers will compete in a nine-day tournament, including members of the Women’s Olympic and Women’s World Champion Sabre teams. All the fast-paced dueling and foil-crossing action is free and open to the public. Even cooler, almost 50 locals from the Sacramento Fencing Club have qualified for competition.
